01

Know what you own.

An independent opinion of your coin’s authenticity and condition.

02

Make selling simpler.

Give buyers a recognized grade to compare. A higher price is not guaranteed.

03

Protect the coin.

A sealed holder reduces handling and keeps its certification details together.

WHEN GRADING MAKES SENSE

Is the benefit worth
the cost?

Often worth considering
  • A scarce date or collectible variety.
  • A coin whose authenticity needs a professional opinion.
  • A valuable coin you plan to sell.
  • A sentimental coin you want to keep protected.
Worth thinking twice
  • A common coin worth less than the submission cost.
  • Ordinary bullion bought mainly for its metal.
  • A coin you expect to jump in value just by being graded.
  • A common coin whose age or shine is its main appeal.

Grading buys a professional assessment, not a promised result. We help you weigh the cost before you commit.

What do the grades mean?

Higher numbers describe better condition, not a guaranteed value.

1–58

Circulated
Wear from use, from heavy to very light.

60–70

Mint State (MS)
Coins made for circulation with no wear, assessed for marks, strike and other condition factors.

PF / PR

Proof
Specially made for collectors. Proof describes how a coin was struck; its number describes condition.

A condition issue
